Why should we save Deer Canyon?

The Deer Canyon Park Preserve is a hidden gem in our community. With endless paths for walking, hiking and biking, it is rare to find a peaceful place in the middle of the suburbs. Filled with precious wildlife and established oak trees, this lush landscape is one of the few remaining parks that keep our community from feeling like a concrete jungle. Help us protect the essence of Anaheim Hills!

  • The Deer Canyon Park Preserve is an essential part of the Anaheim Hills community. Kids, families and local residents enjoy the natural beauty of this wildland in their own backyard. There’s no other space like this in the area! Beautiful streams, wildflowers, animals, and legendary oak trees would all disappear with the building of this development. If you haven’t visited this area, we urge you to walk the paths we are trying to protect. You too will see the value and beauty is worthy of preserving.

  • This natural landscape is home to countless animals like owls, hawks, songbirds, rodents, coyotes and the endangered Knat Catcher. Let’s not stand in the way of nature, but instead enjoy it and help it thrive.

  • Let’s face it, this new high-density housing development will impact our community in more ways than one. The most daunting is the overflow of street traffic, pollution, and issues with day to day life. Most notably, the influx of people would contribute to impaction in schools and difficulties in fire evacuations.
